PUBLICATION POLICIES AND INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

AIMS AND SCOPE:

Journal of Arts and Sciences, published semiannually by Çankaya University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, is an interdisciplinary, academic journal aiming to involve scholars not only from Turkey, but also from all international academic community.  The journal provides a platform for different theoretical and thematic approaches on humanities, natural and social sciences.  Authors may write their articles both in English and Turkish.  The editors seek manuscripts that:

 

PAPER SUBMISSION:

Submission of a paper implies the author’s commitment to publish in this journal. Authors submitting a paper to the journal should not submit it to another journal; nor should papers repeat information published elsewhere in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content. The author’s transmittal letter accompanying the manuscript should affirm that these conditions are met.  Authors in doubt about what constitutes prior publication should consult the academic coordinators.

REFEREEING:

 

Submissions are first read by the responsible editors, and may be rejected without further review.  Those considered for further evaluation will then be sent to external referees.  Authors will be informed about the result within four months, though it is not always guaranteed to do so.  The decision may be a conditional or unconditional acceptance, a rejection, or an invitation to revise and resubmit.  Resubmission is invited if only appropriate changes are envisaged to have been eventually made.  Authors will be informed what changes are necessary.  Resubmitted papers are not sent out for a second round of external reviews.

 

EDITORIAL POLICY

 

Format:

        

(1)    The preferred word processing program for papers is Word.

(2)    Title page with full title and subtitle (if any). For the purposes of blind refereeing, full  name of each author with current affiliation and full address should be supplied on a separate sheet

(3)    Abstract of 100-150 words

(4)    Up to 10 key words

(5)    Main text should be written in 12 pts-font and, should not exceed 20 pages. Text should be clearly organized, with a hierarchy of headings and subheadings and quotations exceeding 40 words  displayed, indented, in the text.

(6)    End notes, if necessary, should be signalled by superscript numbers in the main text and listed at the end of the text before the references

(7)    Figures and tables must be numbered.
